East Greenland

The painings in this collection are inspired by my first sailing trip to East Greenland in 2016. On board of the sailing yacht Barlovento II we visited several places around Tasiilaq village that summer. We admired the landscapes, we met interesting people there, we sailed around the ice bergs and I did some kayaking quite close to one! We were even invited to try whale’s skin together with Inuit hunters when they were dismemberging their prey. A chance to look into such a different, harsh but beatuiful world and people that learned to live in one of the most difficult conditions in the world. And many wonderful memories!
